Mount and Blade Viking Conquest Weapons: A Comparison of Damage, Speed, Reach, and Requirements

The spear and sword were not the only bladed hand-weapons used by the Normans. The axe, that terrible weapon of the Vikings, was still used by their Norman descendants though it seems to have been more popular among the Saxons. If the Bayeux Tapestry is to be believed it could inflict more dire wounds than any other weapon on the battlefield.

Warband expands on the original game by introducing a sixth faction (the Sarranid Sultanate), increasing political options, adding the ability for the player to start their own faction, and incorporating multiplayer modes. Reviews of the game were generally favourable, with the addition of multiplayer praised.[7] The game places a focus on horse-mounted combat and giving orders to one's warband in the field, such as telling archers to hold a position or infantry to use blunt weapons.

Another bladed weapon that was highly popular in the Old Germanic world is the Seax. Also known as the sæx or the sex, this weapon is best termed as a long knife or a dagger, and very rarely as a short sword. These weapons were the most typical for the Germanic peoples of the Migration period and later of the Viking Age, and were worn by almost all free men. The seax was so widespread that the Saxon tribe was named after it.

These are plentiful (though hard to actually obtain) with around 25 shots, with almost no noticeable arcing. They deal a small amount of damage, but it is blunt type damage so even enemies in heavy armor will be injured. If nothing else, the limited arc and high number of projectiles make them good practice for other ranged weapons. 2ff7e9595c
